#69 Trip. Back to the scene of the 1834 coin find.I made the decision to redo the spot where i found the 1834 silver sixpence and dig every signal. It was low tide so i buzzed way down at the very low tide line. Sandy and rocky and not an easy task as i wanted my sensitivity on the detector turned up high, as we all do, as not to miss anything. Amongst the 20 pieces of lead and ringpulls i managed a small ring and 20 coins. 3 were silver. A 1933 3p, a 1933 shilling and neally my best yet, a young QUEEN VICTORIA 1851ish .925 SILVER FLORIN, which is quite worn/corroded and blackened by time. Im starting to think theres more to this spot than i think. A few more visits will tell. 2 goldies, 3 silvers, a 1964 penny, 20 coins all up and a ring.
...and neally my best yet, a young QUEEN VICTORIA 1851ish .925 SILVER FLORIN
The first ever florin (Edw iii 1344) was made of
gold and not successful, only lasting about a
year. 500 years on in 1849 Q Victoria comisioned
a silver florin lasting till 1967.
Cant show you a picture of the spot as its ''top secret'' at this stage...
