I didn't find any silver coins this weekend but a friend and I were taking turns with my detector (when the rain finally stopped) at a camp and people were making fun of us because we were just finding 1 and 2 cents. Then I pulled out this big chunk of a silver ring right in front of the whole group. Changed their tone after that. I think we ended up with $9 too. rgmcbrid attached the following image(s):

Low carat gold comes at higher scale depending on the alloy. I dont have that many silver rings but your finds seem to be about the same ratio as mine. I worked out the other day that say 70 trips-1200 coins is around 15-17 coin finds on average per trip.
