Has anyone found gold or heard of someone finding gold in the Beaumont River? I had a quick prospect up it one day when I was passing by on my way home from central and dident even find a flake, plus from my research it seems there is not much in the way of gold up it but it would be interesting to hear if someone can contradict this.

I have had a look as well not much luck, even the trout are spooky.
I was told there was gold but not a lot. I was also told that the creek to the south that flows into the town from the east was worth a look. but when I lived at Lawrence the farmer was not a cheery fellow.
