Is there any interest in such a club in NZ to hold a claim area. What issues arise ??

Hmm Ive thought about this alot recently but geting an area of river with ok access, reasonable gold to keep members happy is pretty hard to come by as most of these areas have been snapped up pretty quickly.
Next issue would be the doc and f&g as they are usually very difficult to deal with in reguards to larger dredges and also multiple dredges which if a club was formed this would be an issue.
As for the interest in a club i think if someone can come through with starting one and having a club area to dredge, sluice highbank etc you would have huge interest as in the last few years in nz it seems to have got more popular then ever.
I am sure that in the next few years something along these lines will happen its just a matter of getting through the red tape. maybe an area in otago would be suitable i.e the 12 mile or another river that comes under the section 7 he mentioned as it alows multiple dredges on the river up to 6 inch providing they are more then 500m apart.
