Most of you seem to be in the South Island. Have people had much success around Hikuai and on the Tairua river? I'm interested in starting with a bit of panning.

About 12 months ago we stayed at Coroglen camping grounds and sorry didn't do any good. I've got a geolgical map and there is supposed to be a quarts reef that crosses the river about 1 km up the road ,passed the camp. Heading up into the hills.
