Off to a ripper of a start lads, 1c, 1c, 1c, 2c, 2c, 20c, and a metal bracket lol. Havent been able to search the local rugby ground as the rugby lads are practicing drinking 2nyt.

I think the fisher is taming me so far......seems super sensitive, just need to adjust from the ACE. I will hit the rugby ground early 2mrw morn b4 work, familar ground and trash.

Pics off everything on SUNDAY....lol

Yip you will start finding those 1c pieces now, I can't tell the difference between a shallow 1c and a deep $2
but it's all learning. How are you finding the Numerical target ID ?

Lovin the numerical id, am writing down in note book everything i find and what the number is. Watched a few ground balancing and pinpointing clips on the tube which have been helpful. My mate doesnt use his ACE250 much unless he has lost a broadhead and arrow. (thats how i started using his, lost a couple arrows after missing a bunny) So someone move to WAIKATO so we can go detecting lol.

Ahhh yes I remember almost getting into a bit of trouble after some unfortunate timing involving a compound bow a cop car and a way wood arrow luckily not as bad as it sounds.

I find that pinpointing off the front of the coil (pulling it towards you) is easier and seems to be pretty accurate, if I hit another target while pinpointing then I'll try the tail of the coil. The difference with the Garrett DD coils is they have a flat head and butt on them which might make that process a bit easier.

I'm not sure what you are using to dig with but a real cheap tool that I found works really well for shallow plugs is a putty knife with a serrated edge cost $4.10 from Mitre 10 and only took a few minutes to grind, it will do until I have $75 to throw at Robert for a Lesche digging tool. A spade is pretty quick and probably better for the grass but I find it brings too much attention.

right better do some packing, early start tomorrow all going well hopefully get some gold (well at least watch the pros do it).

Glad you're happy with the machine, it's a big jump and you seem to be handling it pretty darn well!

Well im stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went out for an hour tonight and found a 1933 shilling in mint condition and a 1948 half crown which is in poor condition.

Felt like the F4 and I starting to work together.......

Your half crown is in poor condition because silver coins
stopped in 1946.
I went out tonight and got 3 halfpenny's whoopdedoo :-(

Chuck in another $20 in coins from rugby field and a few old 20 n 50cent pieces from today. (Its never been detected im guessing) Tried Papamoa beach this morning and walked away with a hail clip lol. Wasnt confident with the settings i had.

Well id have to say im pretty impressed with the accuracy of the id on the fisher f4. 62 =$2 and 61 = $1 almost every time. Ive hounded the local park for spendables...and am waiting for autumn rain before going back and digging ALL METAL, so i dont kill too much grass now.

TOTAL WITH ACE250 and F4 TODATE

Local Park Spendables $113.50 This doesnt include the smokes, bourban ($80 worth) from Ace



And $10 in old stuff........



Im doing some online research to try and find some older areas now.....relics time!!

Alot of early mornings spent grid working the rugby park...... Ive covered most of the park this weekend. I just coin shooted it, and will be back to do a ALL METAL search when its not so dry.

Yeah i find the $2 ring as 62-64 depending on depth, and large V tops are 64, the beer caps are 77-80 and i now avoid them for now.

I pinpoint target, then i probe with my knife, once I get a hit, I cut a line and stick knife in and flick coin to surface. Dont want to dig too much on the field whilst its so dry.

When coin popping works it's cool seeing a coin pop to the surface, when it doesn't it's like why didn't I just cut a plug to begin with. I've got a heavy spoke (from a motorbike I think) for a probe and a heavy flat-head screwdriver to leaver the sucker out.

How are you finding the balance of the Fisher compared to the Garrett. To me the coil felt lighter and the arm cuff felt more comfortable on the Fisher.

Ya doing well, it's more fun when you can trust your machine!

Quiet couple weeks with work ramping up big time. Managed a couple hours 2day. $20 in spendies and a 3 pennies. Lots of 1cent pieces at the local intermediate....mission to find!!
