Hey guys even with summer upon us it seems nobody is, a- finding any gold or b- sharing their finds on here? I managed to get 27.5 grams in 2 days at the start of the week with my younger brother. I'll take some photos of the nuggety pieces from that haul and post them later on. The largest piece was 4 grams

Nice pic, i haven't figured out how to put up pics yet but will soon, Question- we're the nuggets all from the same spot, and what methods used, it looks quite familiar that gold with the dark staining. I am sure I can smell the tussock from here. Hope to be out after Christmas up to the Shag or Beaumont or the space between. might see you on the road, I will be the one with the hat on...

Hey mate yea the nuggets are all from the same spot and were found a long way from tussock. Rather a lot closer to spaghnum moss or however you spell spaghnum. In saying this however i can see how you could mistake them for otago gold. I have found stuff down there that looks very simmilar indeed. I'll keep an eye out for the hat. to post pictures click on post reply not quick reply and write your message. then below the text window is a tick box that says attach files to this post. You click on that and then on post, a window then pops up where you can browse thru your computer for the pictures you want to upload. Once you are done uploading click go back and you are done.

THanks for the pics Lepre Sean, I have seen half ounce nug got just up from there 50 meters up above causeway and that hole below you does still have good gold in it but you need dive gear to get down to it,Ive been in the bottom but got asked reg council not to be doing it in the public eye because people get upset and bleat to them so keep your rego plate covered

I keep going back, it is a nice place to base yourself, it is usually safe except the last trip I had to call the highway patrol from Palmerston to move on five valiant etc car loads of drunks from Gore and Ettrick on their way to central, they destroyed my tent and sat on their bonnets watching me tend to the damage,it was a little taunting so I called the cop's, one of the officers was a gold digger also, he he he. So found about a gramme for my efforts, will put some more pics up when the nuggets get bigger ;)
