Hi guys,

As i moved to Auckland CBD last weekend, i've decided to start with Victoria park.

-36.846693,174.753982

Guys, several issues been found here:
* soil and grass reinstated in the last 20 years over all ground.
* trillion of bottle tops and shradered aluminium cans make it almost imossible to detect in pictic areas.
* Old trees are surrounded by contrete foundation under 20 SM below surface from previous park layout

I tried 2 modes:

Hunt for anything over 70 for 1$ 2$ coins as a result :

around 20$ in 3 days , handfull of 20c and 50c coins from previous years that are no longer valid. and about 200+ bottle tops. ! 0_0
1 munted silver ring and silver braslet

Hunt anything between 50-70 :
rubish coins and 2kilo of munted aluminium cans.
1 shilling 1965

Verdict:

A lot of afford, low reward :(

I have other parks to check and update.

A small overview of Mayers Park , Auckland CBD

Location : -36.854815,174.761642

* over 100 years old
* Soil is reinstated recently over clay bed
* Trillion Bear Tops and a number of Metal pipes, lines.

best finds in 2 hours:

* silver braslet
* 1$ australian

Verdict :

If you want to find $$$ coins, no go.
No/ too deep relicts.
Too litle reward for a lot of efford.

Another Overview from Me :D

So i decided to at following location:

-36.839086,174.740506

i went there actually about 3 times and got maybe 20$+ from this place,
3pence 1956
Silver earring,
3 Pet tags and some other minor things.

Park has 3 main parts :

* the green picnic area that has frsh grass and really deep soil layer, where even on Max sencetivity i was digging only new coins at 7-8 inches. so if there is something old- way deeper at 10+ inches.
* the pahutakawa alley walkway - where i have found pet tags and some old pennies
* there are a number of really old trees, but all targets are really deep.

I am done with the park as do not like digging to deep, so if someone want to go for old coins- i can confirm there are a lot of targets around old trees.
