Well, finaly got the dredge out to our favorite spot in paradise, this saturday morning, the met service posted their report late Friday night, weather clearing in morning, wind abating 3am, so here I was wide awake at 4-30 ready to go, made lunch had breakfast, time to wake son up, cooked him a good breakfast, sit an enjoy last coffee. Now its time to go, out back door heavy clouds in the sky air a bit nippy , bugger doesnt look too good , but no1 son still keen to go.We arrived just on daylight, still not looking good but we are here. Time to get organised, every thing loaded on to trolley and away we go,its all downhill through the pines and gorse having already spent two days cutting the track clear,25 mins later we are at the river and it decides to rain, so we sit on the dredge under a tarp waiting for it to abate so we can get our wetsuits on. After an hour its still persisdy down, so we reckon theres a pie down the road with our name on it. So the upshot of it all Saturday was a no go,yeah yeah i can hear you all, but i dont do the sleet and rain heman that well. Never mind Sunday we get down there and the weather not too bad! so we get set up and get going in a new spot, nice little set of waterfalls about four meters long. So after two and a half hours my time is up, has to be a short day. This is my first good run using my new 4inch dredge, and everthing goes like its suposed to work, i,m happy with its performance. Heres a few pics of what we got,6.5 grams, the bigger nug is 2.5grams, it was jammed on edge in a crack fat bum down just that skiny edge showing, i made a lot of skeaks in my mask and called the boy to come and see and i let him pull it out using a tool made out of a skillsaw blade with tungsten tooth, boy when it came out of its hidy hole and lay on its side my son was yelling for joy!! THe season is looking good. ENjoy the pics and will you all posted ....
