Hi All,

I have discovered a fairly easy way to help your chances while detecting at the beach.

I start detecting around the top of the high tide mark and head straight down to the low water line.

Repeat this process at around 5 to ten meters apart digging any targets as you head down to the water.

After i have made around 10 to 15 sweeps ( depending how far the low water line is away) lines to the low water mark there is generally a rough patten emerging of targets running parallel to the water line.

This is the line that I now detect for any targets.

This simple system workes best after a heavy sea as the new targets can be sitting in soft sand as they have not had time to settle to the firm base of shell ect.

The attached file is a high-tec drawing to help explane the above.

Cheers
Steve
